Lucky Lotto

Lucky Lotto is an application for the US market developed on both J2ME and BREW platforms. It allows the user to select a maximum of 10 lotteries from the list of lotteries available in the US and it presents the user the lotteries numbers, draw dates, jackpot info. It also allows the user to generate up to 10 combinations of numbers using two algorithms. The 'lucky' one just randomize the numbers, while the 'golden' one uses a more intricate algorithm that uses the last 50 draws and makes an analysis to pick the most likely numbers to be extracted. The analysis is available to the user too.

Project Monitoring Template

The Excel application is a powerful tool for a governmental client, used for tracking different actions and initiatives of the government staff, grouped in work-streams. The user can enter data in different areas of the tool, according to specific scenarios set up by administrators in the tool’s administrative area. At the end of a given period of time (month, year), the tool is able to export different reports in different formats like MS Word, MS PowerPoint or PDF.

The application was designed to be very flexible for the end-users – allowing them to configure each and every aspect of the tool, including charts, paths for reports, reporting periods and many other variables – but also very powerful, being able to deal with a huge amount of data. It is compatible with all versions of Microsoft Office, starting with MS Office 2002.

The application is built with VB.NET and Visual Studio Tools for Office (VSTO) and it automates the process of creating high-end, complex PowerPoint presentations based on large datasets loaded from Excel spreadsheets. The tool is very flexible and it allows the end-users to easily configure the way the data is being retrieved from Excel and how the PowerPoint files are created. Everything is built dynamically and therefore changing columns or values in the Excel files does not affect in any way the export algorithms.

Performance Management Tool

This powerful Excel tool is being used to track different types of initiatives for each department of the company.

It contains two flexible and editable screens – for data input on one hand, and for filtering and exporting data on the other hand. The application allows the access of different types of users with different roles. Only certain types of users are allowed to enter data and others to see and export complex reports in different output formats like Excel or PowerPoint, on a daily/weekly/monthly/yearly basis. The data can be sorted using complex filters and options along with complex economical calculations for different types of savings and in different currencies.

Being built in Excel, the tool is portable and reliable in terms of usability and flexibility. The administrators can easily change the way the application behaves and looks like.

PMO Tracking Tool

The general purpose of this application is to allow the collection of different types of data from contractors around the globe and gather all the data into the client’s headquarters.

The end user fills in the data in a custom, complex Excel application, capable of creating reports and generating other Excel files with filtered data. Then the Excel files throughout the globe are gathered for each department in the company using an Excel aggregation tool, which allows the administrators to sort different types of data in the desired way. In the very last step, a straight forward complex Access application located on a shared drive is used to collect all data from the administrators’ Excel files and save it internally into the Access database and other Oracle databases. The Access tool allows the administrators to create 5 different types of complex reports in different formats like Excel, PowerPoint, Word or PDF.

In terms of look and feel, usability and functionality, every aspect of the tool is configurable and flexible to suit the needs of the client. The application is designed to work with huge amounts of data and is set to archive different sets of data at certain periods of time. Besides all this, the Access tool has the capability to repair and compact itself in case of corruption and to re-link all the tables in case of errors in the Oracle database.
